Morty Garcia, investment advisor to a South Texas organized crime don, concludes he needs a change in profession. This blinding insight occurs while hanging by his ankles two floors above the San Antonio Riverwalk. Everyone seems to want of piece of Morty's action as he pulls together a plan to steal back the millions that Brandon Taggart, a key player in the housing bubble driven collapse, managed to siphon off when his banking firm raided the government's bail out of Wall Street. Morty finds that the complex world of digital banking, offshore accounts, and day trading on steroids, offer a fertile ground for his team of a Dominican hacker, a Texas enforcer and a beautiful Cuban American art representative. Together they face federal investigators, Albanian mobsters and an angry, well connected Irish mob attorney whose daughter is about to lose her share of Taggart's millions. Against a background of a financial meltdown and intricate computer hacking schemes, Default to Zero sprints to a stormy conclusion.

Default to Zero. This is a very different subject for me but it got my attention and kept it throughout the book. The Wall Street Crash and the manipulations, with good guys and bad guys. The good guys, although from very different walks of life fit together and made a workable team. I have never written a review before but this book was special and I will be looking forward to the authors next exciting story.Product details

I read this book and I just couldn't set it down. The plot is fast paced and the characters are right out of the pages of the newspaper. I am a big fan of this type of story where Wall Street fat cats doing bad things get their come-uppance, and this one definitely delivers. I would highly recommend it.
This is one of those novels that nails the Zeitgeist of the times, a fast-paced thriller with a cast of characters spanning all levels of those involved in the recent economic downturn, including those from the seedy underbelly of the crime world. Walston does an excellent job of spinning an engrossing tale of greed, violence and, yes, even love. A great read!
If you like the thriller genre, then you will probably like this book. An exciting read and a great look at how the market works.
